INTRODUCTION
April 11, 2000
Rural Health Networks in Livingston and Steuben Counties,
All the EMS providers who assisted with the data collection
Ladies and Gentlemen,
It is with pleasure that I present to you the attached survey of your EMS systems.
Thompson Health and Ontario County Advanced Life Support are pleased we could be of service and are hopeful you find the information useful for the continued growth of your EMS systems.
The data is intended to indicate the standards of EMS in New York State as well as comparisons to like organizations nationally. The comparisons were conducted with the assistance of Emergency Care Information Center, a division of the Journal of Emergency Medical Services, Carlsbad, California. Specific attention has been placed on the rural areas you serve and compared to the "best practices" of like organizations.
The efforts of the Genesse Valley Rural Health Network, EMS subcommittee, Livingston County and the Rural Health Community Services committee from Steuben County have been very helpful in the collection of data. Additionally, they have benefited by the recommendations we are able to provide for your area.
The survey team is impressed with the sincerity and enthusiasm shown by the EMS members in the EMS services participating. You are interested in quality methods to insure the best possible service in your communities.
Again, thank you for your participation and we wish you success in your future EMS endeavors.
Sincerely,
Everett R. Ferguson
Executive Director
